Vattenfall, one of the largest energy suppliers in Europe, decided to build a new solar park near a railway. The energy supplier wanted to make sure that no annoying reflection, also known as glare, would fall on the train track. This is to prevent possible dangerous situations on the railway.

Vattenfall switched QING Sustainable in order to perform an analysis. To determine whether glare would be present, QING has a self developed software used to simulate millions of light rays.
The investigation showed that there would be no glare from the solar park on the railway. This is incredibly valuable advice for Vattenfall. They now have certainty that the safety of the nearby train track is ensured, and Vattenfall the construction of the solar park can continue.
In some cases, glare is found. However, this glare can be prevented.
For example, the tool can play with the angle of inclination or the orientation of the solar panels until there is no glare anymore. This output can be used by the solar park developers to prevent glare.
If the park has already been built, you can also see where afforestation can be placed to block glare.
