Cold store

The Dutch refrigeration sector is under pressure due to rising energy and network costs, which jeopardises its competitive position. Trade association Nekovri has called on the government to take measures to support this essential sector (well).

“The Netherlands plays in the Champions' League of cooling and freezing, but is in danger of relegating to the second division due to sky-high energy costs. If we do nothing, we will not only lose companies and jobs abroad, but also our strategic role in food supply and pharmaceutical storage.” says Davey Gerlings, CEO of Nekovri. ”

At QING Sustainable, we understand the challenges that cold stores face. We offer effective solutions to get a grip on energy costs and increase resilience in times of fluctuating energy prices.

Using flexible power

Many cold stores have significant overcapacity in cooling capacity. This “flexible capacity” can be used strategically to reduce energy costs while contributing to the balance of the electricity grid. By taking advantage of this flexibility, your company generates additional income without hindering the business process.

Real-time energy management with FLEKSS

To make optimal use of flexible power, we have developed FLEKSS: Flexible Kilowatthour Saving Software. This software fully integrates with your business processes and the energy market, so that electricity consumption is adjusted in real time based on market prices and the current temperature of the stored goods. FLEKSS forecasts market prices and adapts operational processes accordingly, resulting in immediate cost savings and more sustainable energy consumption.
